2 Variations - DIY No Sew Fabric Face Masks

2 Variations - DIY No Sew Fabric Face Masks

It’s common knowledge today that PPE (personal protective equipment) is sold out everywhere and in very high demand. Nevertheless, it has been recommended to wear a fabric face mask in public places. Wearing a fabric face mask in the supermarket, for example, where close personal contact is difficult to avoid, can help to slow the spread. But what can we do when all the face masks are sold out?

The good news is that making a fabric face mask yourself is easy - even without a sewing machine! They can be made in just a few minutes with things you probably already have around the house. Choose some fabric with a print that you like and make a no-sew face mask.

In just a few steps, fabric can be folded and fashioned into a simple face mask. We’ll show you 2 difference variations so you can choose what’s best for you. The first variation is simply some fabric and rubber bands. For the second version, you’ll also need 2 safety pins. The great thing about these masks is that they are totally customisable and very comfortable to wear. Since there is no sewing involved, you can easily take them apart to wash them or when they are no longer needed.

In this video we’ll show you how to make fabric face masks without sewing in just a few steps. Gather your supplies and let’s get started!

DISCLAIMER

These homemade masks are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators! They do not protect the wearer of the mask from infection. They are only intended to prevent the wearer from infecting others through coughing and sneezing. These masks should be washed on the hot setting before each use. A mask should never be worn twice in a row!
